Changes during Training: None 7. Thesis Title: The Impact of Globalization on Agriculture and Rural Areas in China 8. Major: Asian Studies; Code: 60 31 50. 9. Scientific Supervisor: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Do Tien Sam – Director of the Institute of Chinese Studies – Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences 10. Summary of Thesis Results: The thesis is limited to the impact of WTO accession on agriculture, rural areas, and farmers in China. To clarify the issue, the thesis starts from the reality of Chinese agriculture, rural areas, and farmers before accession, along with the difficulties and limitations of these three issues. From there, the thesis highlights the positive impacts after joining through China's achievements and appropriate reform policies. Of course, this includes content related to China's commitments and changes after joining the WTO. The thesis can be considered a comprehensive overview of the achievements China has made in the fields of agriculture, rural areas, and farmers after 10 years of membership. From this, valuable lessons can be drawn for Vietnam. 11. Practical application: The issue of internationalization has always been a hot topic, not only at the time of joining the WTO, but also a long-term issue requiring time and effort to research. This thesis only contributes to providing a general picture of three relatively hot issues for Asian countries: agriculture, rural areas, and farmers after joining. Therefore, even a general overview provides significant insight into the impact of globalization on these three sectors, which account for a large proportion of the population and are quite sensitive. 12. Further research directions: This thesis limits its research to the narrow sense of globalization, specifically economic globalization. Furthermore, it only covers the period from China's accession to the WTO to the present. Therefore, it does not encompass the impact of the broader concept of globalization on these three sectors. Consequently, further development of this topic would involve researching this issue within a broader scope and scope.

INFORMATION ON MASTER'S THESIS

Admission decision number: ………dated …………of President of University of Social Sciences & Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi 6. Changes in academic process: No 7. Supervisors: Ass.Prof.Dr. By Tien Sam – Head of Institute of Chinese Studies – Graduate Academy of Social Sciences 10. Summary on the results of the Thesis: Thesis: Impact of globalization on China's agriculture and rural area is only limited at the impact of WTO accession on China's agriculture, rural area, and farmers. To clarify this issue, the Thesis starts from the current status of China's agriculture, rural area and farmers before WTO accession, along with difficulties and limitations of these three fields so as to highlight positive impacts after WTO accession through achievements and appropriate reformation policies of China. Evidently, it is impossible to exclude contents related to commitments and changes of China after WTO accession. It can be said that the Thesis is an overview on China's achievements in the fields of agriculture, rural area and farmers after 10 years of WTO accession in order to withdraw some valuable lessons for Vietnam. 11. Applicability to the reality: The globalization is always a hot issue which needs to be spent more time and effort on studying, not only at the time of WTO accession, but also in the long term. The Thesis only gives out an overview on three hot issues for Asian countries, namely agriculture-rural area-farmers after WTO accession. However, it still has a certain implication to the consideration on the impact of globalization on these three sensitive fields with the involvement of a high proportion of the population. 12. Following research orientations: The Thesis is only restricted at research contents related to the narrow sense of globalization – economic globalization and in the period after WTO accession of China. Therefore, it does not include the impact of globalization in the broad sense on the three fields. Therefore, if the Thesis is developed, it will be studied in a wider scope and a longer period.
