- Thesis on statistics and survey of imitative words (also known as onomatopoeia, pictographs) in Vietnamese in 2 dictionaries: Vietnamese Dictionary (2010) and Reduplicated Word Dictionary (Institute of Linguistics).
- Describe the appearance of imitation words in Vietnamese on the following levels: structure method, grammatical function, semantics and pragmatics.
- Clarify the effects of using imitation words in spoken language and in narrative or descriptive texts (based on the analysis of some literary documents) through the aspects analyzed above.
- Through the survey, statistics as well as description of the appearance of imitation words in Vietnamese, it shows the necessity of teaching this type of word to foreign students learning Vietnamese.
- The thesis also proposes some ways to teach simulation to foreigners from selecting students, teaching methods to compiling documents, textbooks, teaching aids, exercise systems, practice exercises...
11. Practical applicability: The research results of the topic are useful for compiling a Vietnamese simulation dictionary and compiling materials for teaching spoken language as well as compiling Vietnamese teaching textbooks for foreigners at intermediate and advanced levels.
