The thesis outlines the general theoretical basis of online journalism and the linguistic characteristics of this type of journalism, while also defining the concepts of culture and cultural errors, thereby identifying common manifestations of cultural errors in the linguistic characteristics of Vietnamese online journalism.

Through a survey of the specific language used in online newspapers such as Vnexpress.net, Dantri.com.vn, and Ngoisao.net, this thesis highlights the current state of language use in Vietnamese online newspapers, identifying errors from a cultural perspective and the causes of those cultural errors.

From there, the thesis presents some experiences in handling cultural errors and proposes solutions to avoid making these errors in the use of language on Vietnamese online newspapers.

This thesis presents theoretical and practical solutions for journalists and managers of online news in Vietnam.

This study has listed out the outstanding theories about electric newspaper in general and the specific language using in this kind of journalism. It has also raised the concept of culture and cultural mistakes, thereby indicating general cultural mistakes in the specific language using for electronic newspaper in Vietnam.

By surveying peculiar language on the three popular electronic newspapers in Vietnam: Vnexpress.net, Dantri.com.vn and Ngoisao.net, the study raises the fact of the language used on electric newspapers today in Vietnam, points out the popular mistakes from the cultural perspective and the cause reasons leading to them.

From the study results, the study shares experience in handling the cultural mistakes as well as proposes solutions to avoid them in the language used on electric newspapers in Vietnam.
