Firstly, this paper outlines some theoretical and practical issues regarding the role of farmers in the process of building new rural areas in Vietnam, while also identifying the basic factors influencing the promotion of farmers' role in rural development today.

Secondly, this study analyzes the current role of farmers in building new rural areas in Chuong My district, clarifying the reasons for the limitations of this situation.

Thirdly, we propose some basic solutions to further enhance the role of farmers in building new rural areas in Chuong My district today.
