The thesis affirms that online newspapers are a type of journalism with the most influence and the largest audience today. However, besides the positive contributions to social life, online newspapers are also one of the types with the most violations of professional ethics among the current types of journalism. The thesis surveys, analyzes, and evaluates the current situation of violations of professional ethics by online journalists in Vietnam today by focusing on surveying a number of online newspapers and electronic information sites with a large number of readers in Vietnam with prominent issues in the media in 2013 and 2014. From there, the thesis investigates the causes of violations and proposes solutions to improve the professional ethics of Vietnamese journalists in general, and the team of online journalists in particular.

11. Practical application:

The work provides an overview of the issue of journalists' violations of press ethics in electronic newspapers in the current period of multimedia explosion. In particular, the thesis provides analysis, assessment, and recommendations as a basis for organizations and individuals including press management and direction agencies, press offices, press training institutions, reporters, editors, the public - those interested in the field of press communication and the author of the thesis himself, a journalist and media worker, to refer to and apply in the process of work and practice.

Online newspaper is the latest form of journalism, but currently it has most advantages and most crowded readers. However, besides such positive sides, online newspaper has witnessed high number of violations of ethical professional compared to other press forms. Purpose of thesis is to survey, assess, and analyze status of ethical infringement of in online journalism by focusing on survey related to most-read online newspapers in association with media's most-concerned issues in 2013 and 2014. Thus, causes of violations shall be studied and solutions shall be proposed to improve professional ethics in Vietnamese journalism in general and online journalism in particular.
