University of Social Sciences and Humanities - VNU Hanoi

On January 4, 2024, Associate Professor Dr. Dao Thanh Truong, Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-USSH), met with Professor Michael Herzfeld, Professor of Social Sciences, Department of Anthropology, Harvard University. Also attending the meeting were Associate Professor Dr. Le Tuan Anh, Deputy Head of the Cooperation and Development Department, VNU-USSH; and representatives from the Department of Anthropology and the Department of Oriental Studies.

On January 3, 2024, the High School for Gifted Students in Social Sciences and Humanities (HS&H), affiliated with the University of HS&H, held a ceremony to offer incense and launch the National Excellent Student Team for the 2023-2024 academic year at the school's Traditional Hall.

This was the message that Professor Hoang Anh Tuan, Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-USSH), sent to the entire Board of Directors, the leadership of affiliated units, and key staff attending the university-wide briefing conference at the beginning of 2024, held on January 2nd, 2024.

This is an opportunity for VNU-USSH to receive further input from international scientists from Fu Jen University, Taiwan, on sustainable scientific development.

On December 28, 2023, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, successfully organized the "Tran Duc Thao International Conference - Some Philosophical and Historical Issues" with the participation of speakers from Vietnam and abroad.

On December 28th, Associate Professor Dr. Dang Thi Thu Huong - Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-USSH) - along with other faculty members, visited and presented gifts to international students at the Me Tri dormitory ahead of the 2024 New Year's holiday. As an annual activity during the Lunar New Year season, these gifts, personally handed to each student, represent the university's affection and concern for the students' well-being.

On December 28, 2023, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-USSH) solemnly held the graduation ceremony for the second batch of PhD and Master's graduates of 2023.

On December 15, 2023, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lai Quoc Khanh, Vice Rector of the University, represented the Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-USSH) at the 5th "Forum of Rectors of Universities in the Red River Basin" in Yunnan Province, China, hosted by Yunnan University on a rotating basis. The success of the visit of General Secretary and President Xi Jinping on December 12-13, 2023, also provided inspiration and motivation for this 5th conference.

This was shared by veterans of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU (VNU-USSH) at the Conference summarizing the emulation campaign in 2023 and implementing the work plan for 2024, organized by the University's Veterans Association on the morning of December 22, 2023.

With the aim of promptly understanding and resolving the difficulties, concerns, thoughts, and aspirations of students, on December 22, 2023, the leadership of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, held a dialogue with over 400 students representing various courses, classes, and majors of the University.

On December 20, 2023, a preliminary quality assessment survey for three training programs – Information and Library Science, Information Management, and Tourism and Travel Service Management – ​​took place at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (USSH), Vietnam National University, Hanoi. After a day of reviewing supporting documents and surveying facilities, the External Evaluation Team from the Thang Long Center for Educational Quality Accreditation announced the results and signed the minutes confirming the completion of the preliminary survey.

On December 21, 2023, Professor Hoang Anh Tuan, Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-USSH), met with Mr. Ruici Tio, Asia Pacific Regional Program Manager for Safety and Integrity Policy at Meta. Also present were Mr. Amri Priyadi, Senior Advisor for Asia-Pacific, and several Meta representatives in Vietnam. The meeting served not only to assess achievements over the past years but also to propose key areas of cooperation for the future.

Based on Decision No. 4937/QD-DHQGHN dated December 20, 2023, of the Vietnam National University, Hanoi, regarding the approval of the admission scores for postgraduate training in the second round of 2023.

On December 19, 2023, a seminar entitled "Improving the Effectiveness of Student Learning Assessment" was held at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. The seminar was organized by the University's Trade Union and attended by the University's Trade Union Executive Committee, the Departmental Trade Union Executive Committees, representatives from various functional departments, and a large number of faculty and students.

On December 5, 2023, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dao Thanh Truong - Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU - USSH) held a meeting and working session with representatives from the leadership of Renmin University of China.
