Summary of thesis results: Anxiety and stress disorders are very common among adolescents with specific sexual orientations such as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, pansexual, or non-binary, collectively known as LGBT+. This community often faces factors such as rejection, bullying, discrimination, and violence, putting them at high risk of challenges including depression, anxiety, and suicidal ideation. In this study of gay men exhibiting anxiety disorders, the author presented approaches and assessments, and used cognitive behavioral therapy interventions to provide psychological support to the clients.
The research results showed that the clients experienced reduced anxiety and decreased uncontrolled emotional behaviors and reactions. Furthermore, it revealed the significant role and influence of family in the development of anxiety disorders and the outcomes of psychological therapy for the clients.
11. Practical applicability: The results of theoretical research and clinical case studies have contributed to demonstrating the effectiveness of cognitive behavioral therapy in intervening in anxiety disorders within the LGBT+ community.
