Anxiety disorders are increasingly common and affect a wide range of populations. This thesis reviews research to clarify the concept, epidemiology, factors affecting anxiety and empirical evidence on anxiety disorder therapies. The main content of the thesis is the use of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to treat a case with symptoms of anxiety disorder. After intervention with the first goal of reducing anxiety, the client had reduced symptoms, better understood anxiety disorders, factors that maintain and protect against individual anxieties. At the same time, the client was provided with knowledge and skills to self-identify and cope with anxiety more effectively.
11. Practical application:The thesis contributes to providing further evidence that cognitive behavioral therapy is an effective treatment method for clients with anxiety, especially generalized anxiety.

This study overview contains identifying, epidemiology, influencing factors and evidence-based psychotherapy on anxiety. The main focus of this study is on the application of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to a client with anxiety symptoms. After receiving therapy, anxiety symptoms of the client had reduced, the client expanded their knowledge on anxiety disorder and individualized contributing and protective factors.
