10. Summary of the thesis results:
Depressive disorder is a common disorder occurring at all ages, with women being more likely to suffer from it than men. In this study, the authors provide an overview of depressive disorder in adults and the use of cognitive-behavioral therapy in helping clients reduce depressive symptoms.
The research results showed that the client experienced a reduction in depressive symptoms. Cognitive-behavioral therapy applied in the clinical case achieved certain positive results: the client recognized their negative behaviors and emotions and took more practical actions to replace them; misconceptions were restructured; and future obstacles were identified and coping strategies were developed.
11. Practical applications: Based on the results obtained through theoretical research and practical clinical case studies, this thesis has contributed to demonstrating the effectiveness of cognitive-behavioral therapy in the treatment of depression in adults.
