Depression has been considered a psychological disorder of modern society, with the rate of individuals diagnosed with depression increasing, especially in adolescents. This study used cognitive behavioral therapy, one of the therapeutic approaches proven to be most effective in supporting adolescents with depression, integrated with online therapy (mainly text-based therapy), to provide psychological intervention for a case of an adolescent with depression.
The study applied assessment methods to provide a clinical picture of a depressed adolescent, explaining psychological difficulties in children according to psychological theories. The biggest problems the client is facing are difficulties in building positive relationships, having negative beliefs about himself with a tendency to blame himself, and decreased ability to concentrate which affects learning outcomes.
Cognitive behavioral therapy techniques including behavioral activation, psychoeducation, automatic negative thinking recognition, and problem-solving skills education were applied and showed effectiveness in improving depressive symptoms in clients. After the intervention, clients were able to initially establish friendships with classmates, improve their ability to concentrate, improve their interest in healthy activities, and restructure their self-perception.

Depression has been considered as a disorder of modern society, with an increasing rate of individuals diagnosed with depression, especially among adolescents. In therapeutic approaches for parents with depression, psychological intervention is a method recognized and preferred by many health organizations around the world.
This study adopts the cognitive-behavioral approach, one of the most well-established and effective therapeutic approaches according to research, in combination with the use of online therapy (primarily text-based therapy), to support an adolescent with depression.
