- The thesis has presented the changes in the domestic and international political environment of the two main subjects, China and the United States, in order to see the pressures and motivations for the change in the general foreign policy of these two powers. From there, analyze the national interests, their approaches to the East Sea issue; thereby seeing the real and deep-rooted causes in the power competition between these two powers.
- The thesis shows the differences in the approaches to the problem and the interests of each side in the East Sea. The thesis highlights the typicality of the competition between China and the United States in the East Sea in international relations, that is, each side represents each direction that world politics can move towards: traditional and alternative.
