10. Summary of the thesis results:

The results of this practical research first show that the communication characteristics of elderly people in nursing homes in Hanoi are expressed through the following features: communication needs, communication partners, communication forms, and communication content. These communication characteristics have unique and distinctive features found only in elderly people in nursing homes. There is a positive correlation between these aspects of communication characteristics: a high need for communication among elderly people in nursing homes correlates with rich communication content and diverse communication forms. Furthermore, these correlations are closely interrelated.

There are differences in the communication characteristics of elderly people in nursing homes in Hanoi between private and state-run nursing homes. These differences are most evident in both the content and form of communication.

The communication characteristics of elderly people in nursing homes in Hanoi are influenced by both subjective and objective factors. Subjectively, the personality of the elderly person has the primary impact on their communication style. Additionally, objective factors such as family circumstances also significantly influence the communication characteristics of elderly people in nursing homes. The relationship between the elderly and the nursing home staff is generally positive; the care provided is highly valued by the elderly, and they feel comfortable living in the nursing home.

11. Practical applications:

The research findings of this thesis serve as a useful reference for nursing homes in general, and for caregivers and administrators in particular, to develop appropriate psychological measures to improve communication effectiveness among elderly residents in nursing homes.

12. Future research directions:

If conditions and time permit, we will conduct further research on the factors influencing communication among the elderly in nursing homes. Furthermore, we will increase the number of research subjects and broaden the scope of our study to include more nursing homes.

The practical study results show that the communication characteristics of the elderly in nursing home in Hanoi are expressed through the following features: communication needs, communication objects, forms of communication, communication content of the elderly at nursing home in Hanoi. These features are unique, distinctive only found in the elderly in nursing home. The features of communication are directly correlated: the communication needs of the elderly in nursing home are correlated with the richness of communication content and the variety of communication forms. At the same time, these correlations are closely interrelated.

There is a difference in the communication characteristics between the elderly in nursing home in Hanoi and other private and public nursing home. In particular, the most difference is in communication content and forms of communication.

The communication characteristics of the elderly in Hanoi nursing home are influenced by subjective and objective factors. Among those, the subjective factor is the personality of the elderly mainly involving their communication characteristics. In addition, the objective factor which is family situation also makes a great influence on the communication characteristics of the elderly at nursing home. The relationship between the elderly and nurses is positive, the caring of the nursing home is highly appreciated by the elderly, they are comfortable with living in the nursing home.

11. Applicability in practice:

The research findings of the thesis are a useful reference for nursing centers in general and nurses as well as managers at nursing centers in particular to provide suitable physiological measures to improve the communication efficiency of the elderly in nursing home.

12. Directions for further research:

If the conditions and time are favorable, we will study further on the factors affecting the communication of the elderly at nursing home. In addition, we will increase the number of research objects for further research with broader scope of nursing centers.
