10. Summary of thesis results:
- The thesis consists of three main chapters with the achieved results being the identification and analysis of manifestations of mental trauma in Japanese literary works about war, namely Grave of the Fireflies, Zero of Fire and Sadako's Thousand Paper Cranes.
- The thesis has identified the main cause of those injuries from war, the horrific events, beyond the threshold of tolerance and causing psychological trauma due to war and its aftermath. In addition, the application of interdisciplinary approaches and research, comparing with some historical, cultural, and anthropological documents of Japan has contributed to bringing a multi-dimensional perspective on the research issue, identifying other causes that can create injuries originating from the historical context, cultural and social characteristics. At the same time, other perspectives, the traumatic experiences of the characters also reveal little-known things in history.
- In addition to the above issues, the thesis has researched and explained some methods that can help relieve mental trauma and have meaning such as the anti-war message in Grave of the Fireflies, Zero Fiery Dogfight and Sadako's Thousand Paper Cranes.
