Subsequently, the thesis limited its research to the Kim Lien apartment complex, describing the process by which residents were gradually allocated to the buildings in Block B and the relationships between them. This represents a novel aspect of anthropological research on lifestyles in apartment complexes, whereas other studies have focused only on architecture, materials, and the need for renovation of old apartment buildings.
- The thesis addresses the study of spaces and is based on Henri Lefebvre's theory of space. This is a strength of the thesis, as it combines theory to explain the formation and transformation of three types of space: private space within households, common (semi-public) space between floors, and public space outside buildings.
- The thesis also analyzes the negotiation process among residents in creating living spaces that meet the needs of individuals and the community, in accordance with the specific socio-economic context of Vietnam.
