The research topic "The Lang Son Public's Relationship with the 7 PM News Program of Vietnam Television and the General News Program of Lang Son Provincial Radio and Television Station" (survey conducted from September 2017 to June 2018 with target audience aged 15 and above) aims to study the relationship between the Lang Son public and the 7 PM news program of Vietnam Television and the general news program of Lang Son Provincial Radio and Television Station to understand: characteristics; methods of access; perceptions of content and form, as well as the desires of the Lang Son public regarding the two programs, thereby proposing solutions to attract the public and enhance the effectiveness of information dissemination accordingly.
This thesis clarifies the role of audience research in the operations of media organizations in general, and television stations in particular, especially for each television news program, that is, the specific audience group.
The research methods used in this thesis include: Systematizing documents: Reading and consulting documents, books, newspapers, records, texts, etc., related to the topic; synthesizing trends and research content on mass media and television audiences; studying television journalism and television news programs. Simultaneously, data collection methods were used through sociological surveys using questionnaires; group discussions; and in-depth interviews.
This topic provides a scientific basis to assist leaders, researchers, and the public interested in this issue in planning strategies for producing television news programs, ensuring both content quality and appeal to the general public, and the public of Lang Son province in particular. It also serves as a theoretical foundation for further research from a more innovative perspective.
