In chapter 1, the thesis clarifies the concept, characteristics, and criteria to distinguish television reports from other genres. The production process, criteria for evaluating reportage works, and the role of television in promoting the image of the country and people of Vietnam.

In chapter 2, the thesis focuses on analyzing and evaluating the production and use of the television documentary genre on Vietnam Television and some local Radio and Television stations. The elements that make up a television documentary work, the advantages of this genre in promoting the image of the country and people of Vietnam.
