The thesis has investigated and confirmed the existence of shipbuilding communities along the coast with distinct economic, cultural, and social characteristics.

This study explores the history of shipbuilding in Nghi Thiet commune, Nghi Loc district, Nghe An province, and the preservation and development of this traditional craft by generations of shipbuilders.

Explore the adaptation to the living environment and occupational characteristics through the prominent socio-cultural values ​​of shipbuilders in Nghi Thiet commune.

Propose several recommendations to create favorable conditions for residents to preserve and develop the shipbuilding craft.

This thesis can be used for an initial exploration of shipbuilding communities, bringing this segment of the population to greater attention in research and in policies supporting coastal communities.
