From there, we can have a general view of the relationship between ASEAN and the Russian Federation. The relationship between ASEAN and Russia is important in economic development as well as political security stability in the Southeast Asian region and in the world.

The Russian Federation considers Vietnam an important link to meet the requirements of ensuring security, economic, maritime interests of strategic significance and strengthening cooperation with ASEAN. Vietnam has become a lever in Russia-ASEAN cooperation, a catalyst in Russia's policy of spreading influence in the region.
