The thesis explores the urban theme in contemporary female short stories through the short stories of Nguyen Thi Thu Hue and Di Li. Specifically, the thesis analyzes people and urban life in the short stories of Nguyen Thi Thu Hue and Di Li (personality characteristics of urban people, urban tragedies and aspirations, urban ecological and cultural issues); at the same time, it analyzes some ways of expressing the urban theme of these two writers (the art of building story situations, the art of building characters and language). Thereby, the thesis shows the common points and unique features of each writer in expressing the urban theme in the short story genre.

11. Practical applicability: is a reference document for research on Nguyen Thi Thu Hue's short stories, Di Li and contemporary Vietnamese literature on urban themes in general.
