Nam Dinh is one of the provinces with favorable geographical location and natural conditions for economic, political, cultural, educational and national security development. However, along with that development are the positive and negative impacts of the market economy that have caused impacts on the current young generation, including high school students in Nam Dinh. The situation of the country is changing, there is a risk of war, hostile forces are always looking for ways to sabotage Vietnam. Many high school students in Nam Dinh today are indifferent to current events, lacking responsibility for themselves, their families and society. They live without ideals, lacking national pride. In particular, they are easily drawn into hostile forces that sabotage the country. Faced with this situation, educating students about patriotic traditions is an urgent issue in personality education, lifestyle and moral education. On the basis of clarifying the importance and current status of patriotic education for high school students in Nam Dinh. The thesis proposes some basic solutions to improve the effectiveness of patriotic education for this group in Nam Dinh.
