Chapter 1: Theoretical and practical basis of the topic.
In this chapter, I provide an overview of research issues concerning internal and international migration. In addition, I present the theoretical frameworks that form the basis of this research topic, along with a system of terminology and concepts used in the study.
Chapter 2: The context of cross-border male migrant labor between Vietnam and China.
This chapter focuses on the context and dynamics leading to cross-border labor migration between Vietnam and China of male migrant workers. Besides considering the economic reasons driving the desire to migrate among male migrant workers, such as difficult family economic conditions, poverty, low income, and lack of employment, economic events like gambling and debt, the relatively low cost of migration compared to the income gained, and the differences in income levels, wages, attractiveness, and demand for human resources in the Chinese job market compared to Vietnam, etc., this chapter emphasizes the importance of analyzing the causes of migration in general, and male migrant workers in particular, based on factors related to culture, social structures and norms, and gender perspectives.
Chapter 3: Experiences of male cross-border migrant workers between Vietnam and China.
In this chapter, I have delved into the experiences of male migrant workers crossing the Vietnam-China border illegally. This includes experiences along the migration route, particularly those related to work and life in a foreign country, such as social connections, deposit practices, as well as health issues, illnesses, and risky behaviors faced by male migrant workers. Through the analysis of these male migrant workers' experiences, the study contributes to providing a further perspective on gender-specific experiences that differ between men and women in migration.
Chapter 4: Repatriation and Reintegration of Male Migrant Workers.
In Chapter 4, I delve into the repatriation and reintegration process of male migrant workers, from analyzing the causes of repatriation to post-migration experiences.
