10. Summary of thesis results:
Firstly, the thesis has affirmed the role of culture in teaching and learning foreign languages as well as theoretical issues on cultural awareness, intercultural communication and intercultural communication competence.
Second, the thesis has clarified the current situation of teaching and learning cultural content integrated into the Vietnamese as a foreign language curriculum at the Faculty of Vietnamese Studies and Vietnamese Language.
Finally, based on the analysis of the points that need to be changed in the curriculum and teachers' teaching activities, some recommendations were proposed to develop intercultural communication skills for Vietnamese language learners.
11. Practical application:
For teachers, the research results of the thesis are a useful reference in supplementing the theory of intercultural communication for foreign language teaching activities, serving the teaching of Vietnamese as a foreign language.
For learners, the study will demonstrate that intercultural communication skills are a powerful tool to help them understand Vietnamese language and culture; avoid prejudices when evaluating Vietnamese culture as well as any other culture; help them improve their communication and mediation skills when misunderstandings occur with Vietnamese people.

Further research on methods to develop intercultural communication skills for Vietnamese learners such as how teachers design lessons, exercises and teaching activities.

First of all, the study has affirmed the role of culture in teaching and learning language as well as theoretical issues in cultural awareness, intercultural communication and intercultural communicative competence.
Secondly, the study has clarified the situation of teaching and learning integrated cultural knowledge in Vietnamese as a second language courses at Faculty of Vietnamese Studies and Language.
Finally, based on the analysis of limitations in the study program and teaching activities, the study has proposed for developing Vietnamese language learners' intercultural communicative competence.

For teachers, this research can be a useful reference resource for supplementing theories of intercultural communication into language teaching activities, contributing to the teaching of Vietnamese as a second language.
For learners, this research has proven that intercultural communicative competence is an efficient tool for understanding Vietnamese language and culture; how to avoid being judged while assessing Vietnamese culture or any other culture; help them to develop communicative competence and mediation skills when misunderstanding and dysfunction occur during interaction with Vietnamese people.
