M. Bulgakov is one of the greatest and most original writers in Russian literature of the 20th century. One of the outstanding features of his creative poetics is parody. Studying parody in the writer's stories and novels is a current trend of Bulgakov studies.

M. Bulgakov used fantasy, grotesque, and magical elements as a cover to reflect the reality of Russian society in the 1920s and 1930s. Through satirical images, he warned about the disaster of social reform programs that went against the laws of natural and social life, leading to the emergence of mentally and spiritually perverted people.

Based on artistic intertextuality and real-life prototypes, M. Bulgakov created character motifs (teacher-student motif) and plot motifs (Christian motif, power motif...) in a multidimensional world full of philosophical suggestion.

Parody in M. Bulgakov's science fiction stories not only inherits the tradition of classic writers (Gogol, Kafka) but is also a unique creative innovation of a Soviet era realist writer.
