This thesis examines the fundamental theoretical issues and practical foundations of modernizing operations at the National Library of Laos.

The thesis surveyed the current state of electronic information resources, standardized professional practices, implemented integrated specialized software applications, and invested in physical facilities and information technology infrastructure. The thesis evaluated the effectiveness of modernization and pointed out the remaining limitations in library information activities at the National Library of Laos.

This thesis has proposed several solutions to improve collaborative modernization of operations at the National Library of Laos.

The National Library of Laos can utilize the research findings and solutions presented in this thesis to address existing limitations in its library information operations, thereby improving the quality of service for information users.

11. Summary of the findings of the thesis:

The thesis studies fundamental theoretical issues in modernizing library information's activities; practical background and current status of the National Library of Laos. It then provides the strategic direction and specific solutions for modernizing the National Library of Laos' library information activities.

Based on survey of building infrastructure, electrical resources, standards of the library related activities, application of library software and information technology (IT) in the National Library of Laos, the performance of the library's activities is evaluated and its remaining issues are identified.

The thesis proposes several solutions for the modernization of the National Library of Laos' operation.

The thesis's research output and proposed solutions could be applied in the National Library of Laos to solve current limitations that exist in the library and improve the quality of services for the users
