- The thesis deals with an issue that, although not new, is always one of the issues that researchers, leaders, managers and the whole society are interested in: The Confucian theory of "three obediences" and "four virtues" and its influence on promoting the role of Vietnamese women in the process of industrialization and modernization of the country today. The thesis has shown that: "three obediences" and "four virtues" simultaneously contain both positive values ​​and limitations; the positive values ​​have contributed to beautifying the image of new Vietnamese women, helping them have certain advantages in life and success in work; its limitations distort perception, limiting the level of women's efforts to improve.

- The thesis also presents viewpoints on the main directions and solutions in the critical inheritance of the "three obediences" and "four virtues" to further promote the role of Vietnamese women in the current period.
