The thesis studies the process of cooperation in responding to climate change in ASEAN, analyzes the advantages and challenges to find solutions to enhance cooperation between ASEAN countries in responding to climate change. In particular, the thesis has the following main points:
- Systematize the process of forming ASEAN's common view on the need to cooperate in responding to climate change. From the common perception that climate change is the biggest risk to the region, with the process of forming and developing the ASEAN Community, ASEAN leaders and regional policy makers have built multi-sectoral coordination mechanisms to respond to climate change.
- While summarizing the process of building a climate change response mechanism in ASEAN, the advantages and challenges to this cooperation process were analyzed to make recommendations for ASEAN to take appropriate actions to combat global warming, combat adverse impacts on the socio-economy of each country and the whole bloc to ensure the goals of building a green, sustainable and stable ASEAN Community.

This thesis researches the cooperation process of responding to climate change in ASEAN, analyze the favorable sides and the challenges to find proper solutions to strengthen cooperation between ASEAN countries in coping with problems of climate change. formation, the thesis has the following main points:
- Systematizing the ASEAN common view on the need to cope with climate change. Sharing the general awareness that climate change is the biggest threat to the region and with the formation and development of the ASEAN Community, ASEAN leaders and policy makers of the region have built their multi-sectoral coordination mechanisms to cope with climate change.
- In the synthesis process of developing mechanisms to cope with climate change in ASEAN, the pros and cons of such cooperation processes have been analyzed in order to make recommendations and approve actions for ASEAN towards the phenomenon of global warming, the adverse socio-economic impacts that climate change poses on each ASEAN member state and the ASEAN with a view to ensure the goal of building a green, stable and sustainable ASEAN.
- From such analysis and assessment of ASEAN cooperation on response to climate change, the thesis has proposed some recommendations to further enhance cooperation of Vietnam in ASEAN, further strengthen the role of Vietnam as Secretary General of ASEAN in all 10 priority areas, particularly in climate change.
