Topic “A message about family through the "Confessions Letters" column in the Vietnam Women's Newspaper."Applying journalistic theory and mass media sociology to analyze the messages about family conveyed in this section from January 2013 to June 2014."
This thesis uses content analysis to examine 402 letters sent to and replied to in the "Confessions Letters" section, aiming to understand the current state of Vietnamese families and their social impacts.
From there, the thesis offers observations on the current state of Vietnamese families in light of the requirements of building sustainable families, and also provides some suggestions for the Vietnam Women's Newspaper so that its "Letters to the Confessions" column can provide messages that fully and truthfully reflect the state of families in the direction of building sustainable Vietnamese families.
11. Practical applications:
Analyzing mass media messages is a fundamental method in journalism and the sociology of mass media. It is conducted from both quantitative and qualitative perspectives. Therefore, this method reveals both the real factors and the developmental trends regarding the current state of family awareness. This also means that the research direction we are pursuing demonstrates the effectiveness of journalistic activities on the issue of family in Vietnam today. This thesis can serve as a reference for further research on this topic.
12. Future research directions: (if any)
Based on the research findings summarized in this thesis, the following directions for further research can be suggested:
- Continue researching the message about family in print media for women.
- Messages about domestic violence on online news sites.
- Messages about gender selection among couples of reproductive age in the mass media.
The above are just suggestions for research directions; the timing of the research will depend on the specific issues and channels chosen.

The topic “Message on families via the forum Confiding Letters on Vietnamese Women Newspapers” applies the theories of mass media journalism and sociology to analyze the messages on family transmitted in this forum from January 2013 to June 2014.
The thesis uses content analysis for 402 letters sent and answered in the forum Confiding Letter, in order to acknowledge the conditions of Vietnamese families at present and social impacts on conditions of families mentioned in the contents of the messages.
Thereby, the thesis gives out comments on the conditions of Vietnamese families at present in the request of building a sustainable family, and offers recommendations for Vietnamese Women Newspapers in order to help Confiding Letters provide such messages that reflect fully and honestly the conditions of families following the direction of building a Vietnamese sustainable family.
12. Applicability in practice:
Analysis of mass media messages is a basic method in mass media journalism and sociology. It is conducted on 2 aspects: quantitative and qualitative. Therefore, this method shows real factors and development tends for strengthening conditions of families at present. This also means our research direction shows the efficiency of journalism activities on Vietnamese family issues nowadays. This thesis can be a reference for further research on this topic.

With the research results summarized in the thesis, the author can recommend such further research directions as:
- Continue to research messages on family on printed newspaper for women
- Messages on domestic violence on electronic newspapers
- Messages on issues of sex selection of married coupled in childbearing age on mass media.
