The results of this research have clarified the process of international cooperation activities of the University of Transport from 1994 to 2013.

The globalization process has been and will be affecting and will contribute to changing and innovating our higher education system in the coming years. International integration poses a higher concept of competition in the quality of teachers and the quality of training products, in this case the quality of graduates and scientific research and application. In that context, students must be trained and equipped with skills to become global citizens, dare to face difficulties, have high adaptability and the ability to find good jobs.

Realizing this, as a specialized training unit for the transport sector, the international cooperation activities of the University of Transport are always focused on and developed. However, besides the achievements in training, research, and expanding relations, this activity also reveals many limitations in the way of operation, human resource level, infrastructure, etc. The thesis provides an overall assessment of the achievements and limitations of this activity as well as the advantages and difficulties in the implementation process. On that basis, measures are recommended to overcome the disadvantages and promote and further enhance the effectiveness of the University's international cooperation.

This is the first thesis to study international cooperation activities of the University of Transport from the perspective of international relations, so the research results are completely new.

11. Practical application:

The research results of the thesis can be completely applied in practice. These results will help the School review and re-evaluate the overall international cooperation activities; adjust and propose international cooperation strategies in the new period; review and apply proposed measures in specific conditions and circumstances.

12. Further research directions:

Innovation and reform of education and training is always a hot issue in Vietnam. There are many ways to innovate education, in which international cooperation is one of the most effective and positive methods. However, the thesis has not had the opportunity to deeply explore this issue in other training institutions, so there is no overall view of this activity in general and no comparison of this activity with other universities. In addition, Vietnam does not have any university in the world's top university rankings, an important criterion in assessing the level of international educational integration. Therefore, more in-depth research on this issue is needed.

Educational reform has always been a burning issue in Vietnam. There have been many ways for reform and international cooperation is one of the most effective methods. However, this thesis has not got an opportunity to go further to explore in other educational institutes so there might not have an overview on this activity in comparison with other universities. Besides, there is no Vietnamese university listed in the top brand universities in the world which is one of important criteria to assess level of international integration.
