10. Summary of the thesis results:
This thesis focuses on analyzing and interpreting the issue of international cooperation on maritime delimitation between Vietnam and Cambodia from 1982 to 2021, aiming to identify the basis, trends, and solutions for appropriate maritime border delimitation between the two countries in the future.
With the above objective in mind, this thesis has conducted research on many related factors, from the natural and social conditions surrounding the sea areas of Vietnam and Cambodia; the maritime issues that Vietnam and Cambodia need to cooperate in resolving; an analysis of trends in maritime delimitation between countries worldwide, such as the median line method, equidistant line method, or other methods; and presented some legal bases for maritime boundary delimitation (the concept of maritime boundary delimitation and some principles for resolving maritime boundary delimitation issues according to the 1982 International Convention on the Law of the Sea).
This thesis clarifies the current state of cooperation on maritime delimitation between Vietnam and Cambodia from 1982 to 2021; it addresses the viewpoints of both Vietnam and Cambodia regarding cooperation in maritime border delimitation between the two countries. Based on an analysis and evaluation of the maritime delimitation process between Vietnam and Cambodia, including assessments from each side, the thesis forecasts future prospects. Simultaneously, the thesis proposes several solutions for maritime delimitation between Vietnam and Cambodia.

The thesis has focused on analyzing and explaining the problem of international cooperation on the delimitation of the sea between Vietnam and Cambodia from 1982 to 2021, in order to identify the foundation, tendency and solutions for border delimitation in the sea properly between the two countries in the near future.
According to stated objectives, the thesis has studied many related factors, from natural and social conditions around the sea area of Vietnam and Cambodia; discussed issues that Vietnam and Cambodia need to cooperate to solve; analyzed the trend of sea delimitation among countries around the world such as the median line method, equidistant or other methods; outlines the legal basis for delimiting boundaries on the sea (the concept of delimitation of maritime borders and some principles to deal with sea delimitation under the 1982 International Convention on the Law of the Sea).
Moreover, the thesis explains the status of the cooperation process aimed at defining the sea boundary between Vietnam and Cambodia from 1982 to 2021; in which, the views of Vietnam and Cambodia's views on the cooperation in demarcation of sea border between the two countries were mentioned. Based on the analysis and assessment of the delimitation of the sea between Vietnam and Cambodia, including the assessment of each party to forecast for the future prospects.
