The scientific conclusion drawn from the research results of this thesis is: Population aging is an unavoidable trend and reality; therefore, the government, sectors, levels, and individuals must pay necessary attention to the elderly. The current elderly welfare system in Vietnam has some outdated aspects compared to the development trends of society in general and the elderly population in particular. Learning from the experience of China, a country close to Vietnam in terms of culture and political institutions, and ahead of Vietnam in international integration and economic development, is necessary to improve the social welfare system for the elderly in Vietnam.
