- An overview of the theoretical basis and a summary of lessons learned both domestically and internationally regarding community-based tourism development.

- Analyzing the conditions for developing community-based tourism in Cho Lach district, Ben Tre province.

- Analyzing the current state of community tourism development in Cho Lach district, Ben Tre province, during the period 2009-2013.

- Proposing development orientations and management models for community tourism in Cho Lach district, Ben Tre province up to 2020, and implementation solutions.

11. Practical applications: This thesis can be used as a reference for officials and specialists in state tourism management agencies, districts and communes in Cho Lach district, Ben Tre province, tourism students, etc.

12. Further research directions: This topic could be developed to focus on tourism territorial planning, promoting specialized tourism types such as poverty alleviation tourism and responsible tourism in Minh Island and Ben Tre province.
