Chapter 1. Overview of the Institute of Genome Research
This chapter lays the foundation for understanding the specific professional activities of the Institute of Genome Research in order to determine the organization and management methods of the Institute of Genome Research, thereby determining the responsibilities and document management procedures of the Institute.
Chapter 2. Survey on the current status of scientific and technological document management at the Institute of Genome Research
Research on legal basis, human resources, and supporting tools in the management of scientific and technological documents at the Institute of Genome Research. Research on the formation process and the exploitation and use of scientific and technological documents at the Institute of Genome Research. From there, make assessments on the management of scientific and technological documents at the Institute.
Chapter 3. Proposing solutions for managing scientific and technological documents at the Institute of Genome Research
Based on the assessment of the current status of scientific and technological document management activities in Chapter 2, we propose 3 groups of management solutions including: solutions to enhance the responsibility of managers, from directing to issuing guidance documents, inspecting and evaluating implementation results; document management solutions from collecting, making statistics and building a system of tools to look up information sources from scientific and technological documents and solutions on support tools in document management.
11. Practical application:
The research results of the thesis help managers of the Institute of Genome Research have a specific view on how to organize and manage scientific and technological documents at the Institute. At the same time, it is a source of reference for specialized research units under the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology to improve the quality and efficiency of scientific and technological document management activities of their units.

The chapter analyzes the legal basis, human resources, and supported tools on scientific and technological document management in Institute of Genome Research. Research on formation procedure and current use of scientific and technological documents in the Institute of Genome Research, which provides the assessments on Institute's document management system.
Chapter 3. Proposed solutions for management of scientific and technological documents in Institute of Genome Research
Based on the assessments of the current situation of management of scientific and technological documents in Chapter 2, we propose three management solutions, including the solution to improve the responsibility of managers on the direction and issue of instruction, control and evaluation documents; the solutions of documents management includes collection, statistics and development of tools for searching information sources from scientific and technological documents; and the solution of supporting tools on document management.
11. Practical applicability, if any:
The results of the thesis provides the managers of Institute of Genome Research a comprehensive view on how to organize and manage scientific and technological documents. It is also a reference for other Institutes in Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology to improve the quality of their scientific and technological document management.
