11. Summary of the thesis results:
This thesis explores the perceptions of elderly people in Hanoi regarding self-care, including: awareness of their health status and ability to self-care; awareness of the necessity of self-care; awareness of preventing health decline; and awareness of self-care for health improvement. Simultaneously, the thesis also investigates factors influencing the perceptions of self-care among the elderly, such as awareness of health care before old age; self-confidence; confidence in the future; confidence in relationships with others, family and friends, and other factors.
Based on the research findings, the thesis also proposes several recommendations to help raise awareness among the elderly about self-care.

The research findings and the author's recommendations reveal the current state of awareness regarding self-care among the elderly and suggest possible directions for improving this awareness.
13. Future research directions:
- A comparative study of perceptions regarding self-care among the elderly in different regions and living areas (cities and rural areas, plains and mountainous regions, and the three regions of North, Central, and South Vietnam).
- Research on self-care awareness across different age groups.

Thesis studied awareness of self-care of the elderly living in Hanoi, including: awareness of health status and ability to self-care; awareness of the need for self-care; awareness of self-prevention of health decline and awareness of self-care for health promotion. At the same time, the thesis also studied some factors affecting awareness of self-care of the elderly living in Hanoi, such as awareness of health care prior to aging period; confidence in oneself; confidence in the future; confidence in relationships with other people; family and friends and other factors...
Based on the research results obtained, the thesis also proposed a number of recommendations to contribute to raising the elderly's awareness of self-care.
