The thesis explores the elderly's awareness of self-care in Hanoi, including: awareness of health status and ability to take care of their own health; awareness of the need for self-care; awareness of self-prevention of health decline and awareness of self-care to improve health. At the same time, the thesis also explores factors affecting the elderly's awareness of self-care such as awareness of health care before old age; self-confidence; confidence in the future; confidence in relationships with others; family and friends and some other factors...

Based on the research results, the thesis also proposed some recommendations to contribute to raising the awareness of the elderly about self-health care.

The research results of the topic as well as the author's recommendations show the current status of awareness of self-care of the elderly and possible directions to help improve awareness of self-care of the elderly.

- Comparative study on the awareness of self-care of the elderly in different regions and living areas (urban and rural, plains and mountains, 3 regions: North - Central - South).

- Study on self-care awareness in different age groups.

Based on the research results obtained, the thesis also proposed a number of recommendations to contribute to raising the elderly's awareness of self-care.
