- The thesis outlines the theoretical basis of social criticism of the printed press on the Son La Hydropower Plant Project surveyed in the Thanh Nien, Lao Dong and Nong Thon Ngay Nay newspapers; The thesis clearly presents the function of social criticism, the role of the press in social criticism activities; introduces the Son La Hydropower Plant Project, the scale of the project and the significance of the project to social life and affirms the characteristics of the type and the ability to create a forum for social criticism of the printed press.

It presents not only the function of social assessment, the role of press on activities of social assessment but also the scale of plant, the meaning of Son La hydropower project to social life. It states the feature of newspaper and its ability to make social assessment forum.
