10. Summary of thesis results:

Firstly, based on an overview of relevant documents, especially global criteria for sustainable tourism development, the thesis has built a system of appropriate criteria to evaluate sustainable sea and island tourism activities with four main pillars: management, economy, environment and socio-culture.

Second, the thesis has built a scale of criteria to evaluate the sustainability of Hon Tam tourism. This evaluation model can be applied to evaluate the sustainability of island tourism activities in Nha Trang Bay in particular and Vietnam's island tourism in general.

Third, based on the survey results, the thesis has provided objective assessments of the current status of tourism activities on Hon Tam Island (both positive and negative) and pointed out the causes of those results.

Fourth, the thesis has proposed some basic orientations for sustainable tourism development in Hon Tam. These orientations can also be good suggestions for sustainable tourism development on other islands.

11. Practical application (if any)

It is a good reference document for the management board of MerPerle Hon Tam Company in business development strategy and for state management agencies in managing the orientation of sustainable development of Nha Trang island tourism.

12. Further research directions

Apply and develop criteria for evaluation for other islands, thereby drawing a general model for planning sustainable tourism development of islands in Nha Trang Bay.
