Research topic "Hanoi's urban lifestyle and its transformations during the Doi Moi (Renovation) period (Comparison with Seoul's urban lifestyle, South Korea)") To better understand the urban lifestyle in Hanoi, it's important to note that Hanoi's urban lifestyle has been formed and developed since a very early stage, creating a unique characteristic that sets it apart from other cities.

Studying Hanoi's urban lifestyle during the đổi mới (renovation) period allows us to understand the current state of life and, based on that, identify which traditional values ​​still exist and which new values ​​are emerging in Hanoi's urban life.

The economic development of a nation brings about changes in people's lifestyles. New efforts for economic development were made in Vietnam in 1985 and in South Korea in 1986. Thus, the lifestyles of people living in Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam, and Seoul, the capital of South Korea, changed in many ways compared to before 1986. Through the leaps in economic development at similar times in both countries, how have the lifestyles of people in Hanoi, Vietnam, and Seoul, South Korea, changed? This thesis explores the trends of transformation in Hanoi's urban lifestyle in the future.

The thesis has shown the urban lifestyle of Hanoi and its transformation over different periods, revealing which lifestyles have been preserved, which have changed, and which have disappeared. From this, we can see the typical characteristics of the lifestyle of the people of Hanoi in particular and the people of Vietnam in general.

This thesis has helped readers understand the factors influencing and the changes in Hanoi's urban lifestyle during Vietnam's period of reform.
