In the process of teaching Vietnamese to foreigners, we have found that the problem of teaching and learning modal words and modal idioms is always a matter of interest to international students because of both its difficulty and interest.

This is a difficult phenomenon that has not received enough attention in both curriculum, teaching methods and interpretation.
