The thesis Economic relations between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait from 1979 to the present has studied the current status of trade and investment relations between mainland China and Taiwan over a very long period of time from 1979 to the present. Then, the thesis focuses on the development trend of the relationship between the two sides in the future along with assessments and comments on the achievements and limitations of this relationship. Finally, the thesis makes recommendations to improve the economic relations between Vietnam and each partner in China and Taiwan. The main content of the thesis includes the following points:

Chapter 1: The basis of economic relations between the two sides of the Taiwan Straithas set out the basic conditions for forming economic cooperation between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait.

Chapter 2: Economic relations between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait from 1979 to presentstudied the current status of trade and investment exchange between the two economies of mainland China and Taiwan, along with their achievements and limitations. It specifically analyzed each side's policies as well as the necessary conditions for the two sides to sign the ECFA Framework Agreement.
