- This thesis aims to analyze two issues: sexual culture and the reception of Ho Xuan Huong's orally transmitted Nôm poetry by researchers in North Vietnam from 1954 to 1975.
- The thesis points out that Confucian moral concepts and Marxist literary criticism had a significant impact on the reception of sexual elements in Ho Xuan Huong's poetry during the period from 1954-1975, leading readers to misunderstand the purpose of her writing as well as the aesthetic values of her poetry.
- The thesis also points out that, in the process of interpreting Ho Xuan Huong's work, alongside its limitations and shortcomings, researchers during this period still achieved great success in discovering the humanistic and compassionate meaning of sexuality in Ho Xuan Huong's poetry.
