In conducting this research, we aim for the following objectives:

- Based on researchModern Vietnamese poetry about the sea and islandsThis thesis observes that modern Vietnamese poetry has devoted considerable attention to the theme of the sea and islands. The number of poems written about the sea and islands is increasing, and the number of writers is also growing. Among them are many prominent authors with valuable works that attract readers. This is because Vietnam's sea and islands are an integral part of the nation's territory, closely linked to the lives of the Vietnamese people for thousands of years, both materially and spiritually. In the Vietnamese consciousness, the sea and islands are a refuge, a space for national survival, and a strategically important area for protecting and developing the country. Currently, Vietnam's sea and islands are facing disputes that threaten national sovereignty, so writing about the sea and islands is an emotional need for writers, a way to express their patriotism and political stance.

- By delving into some representative figures of modern Vietnamese poetry writing about the sea and islands, the thesis has discovered that poetry about the sea and islands affirms the country's territorial sovereignty, praises the beauty of Vietnam's nature and people, and expresses romantic love. These sources of inspiration are a continuous flow through time, refracted through the souls of many generations of people who love poetry and love Vietnam.

- Besides exploring and discovering the main inspirations in modern Vietnamese poetry about the sea and islands, the thesis also focuses on developing a system of typical artistic images and symbols that poets use when writing about the sea and islands, namely the imagesThe islands and seas are closely linked to the homeland; the image of the soldier; the image of the working people.and symbolsBoats and the sea, sails, seagulls' wings.That is what gives poetry about the sea and islands its unique characteristics.

- Studying some representative figures of modern Vietnamese poetry about the sea and islands, this thesis finds that modern Vietnamese poetry about the sea and islands is truly rich and diverse. Each poet has a unique and distinct style, creating a multi-faceted landscape. However, this diversity of styles remains unified in affirming the sovereignty and territory of the nation. Therefore, the thesis affirms the position and poetic style of these representative writers, as well as their contributions to modern Vietnamese poetry.

Having achieved the aforementioned goals, the topic also makes certain contributions, namely providing a comprehensive and systematic overview to highlight the distinctive features of representative poems about the sea and islands in modern Vietnamese literature. At the same time, it helps affirm the talent, unique creative personality, and contributions of prominent poets in the flow of national poetry. Furthermore, the limitations of the topic, I believe, may also generate interest for those who share this concern.

On conducting the research on this topic, we aim to achieve the following objectives:

With the basis of research in Vietnamese Modern Poetry written about Sea and Island, we realized that Vietnamese Modern Poetry put a lots of interest in this subject. Number of works for this subject is more and more; number of composers increases day by day also. Many of them have valuable works and attract readers' interest. Vietnamese Sea and Island are an inviolable part of our Motherland; Passing over thousands of years, it always connects closely to the physical and spiritual life of Vietnamses people. In their mind, Sea and Island are a peaceful place to be born and bred; they are also strategic compass for protecting and developing country. At the moment, Vietnam Sea and Island have threatened conflicts to the country's sovereignty. That's the reason why writers choose this subject to express their emotions, their love of country and their political attitudes.

When we deeply invest on learning about some typical names of Vietnamese modern poetry written about Sea and Island, we also go to the conclusion that these works are affirming for the country's sovereignty, the praise of the country's natural beautiful sceneries and people, and love among pairs.These sources of inspiration are like a flow passing over times; it's refracted over the soul of many generations loving poetry and Vietnam country.

Beside learning about inspiration in Vietnamese modern poetry written about Sea and Island, our thesis also focuses on deploying systems of typical image and symbol arts which are used to write about Sea and Island. They are images of Sea and Island associated with Motherland, Soldiers, Work-people ; And Symbols of Sea and Board, Sail, Seamen' Wing. All of these create special points for poetry written about Sea and Island.

Learning about some typical faces of Vietnamese modern poetry in this theme, we also find that it's so rich and diversified. Each writer has his own style and it's not mixed with others. From there, they together create a multi-style look. However, this multiform still has its unification in affirming the country's sovereignty and territorial integrity. From that point, this thesis once again affirms the position, style of these typical writers as well as their contribution to Modern Poetry of Vietnam.

To reach all above goals, our subject has also its own contribution; It's general, systematic, logical and objective look in order to show all the special points of typical works written about Sea and Island in Vietnamese modern Literature. Moreover, it also affirms the talent, special creation as well as significant contribution of these writers in the flow of country's poetry. What's more, I should think, all the limitations of this thesis can create interest for those who have the same care about this subject.
