10. Summary of thesis results:
The thesis has clarified the following issues:
Firstly, currently, Korean companies are investing heavily in Vietnam, many Koreans come to Vietnam to live, work and study, so the need to learn Vietnamese is increasing. However, their need to learn Vietnamese has not been fully met and there are still many problems.
Second, the current situation of teaching and learning of Koreans when learning Vietnamese is shown through factors of teachers, learners and learning methods. Regarding teachers, there is no shortage of Vietnamese teachers but there are not many teachers who specialize in teaching Koreans despite the great demand. Regarding learners, Koreans have motivation and purpose for learning but are affected by many factors such as time, working environment, family circumstances, etc., so learning is not very effective. Regarding learning methods, the system of textbooks, tool books, and competency assessment systems are old, lacking, and not synchronized, so they do not create much interest for Koreans when learning Vietnamese.
Third, Koreans learning Vietnamese have a great advantage in terms of phonetics and vocabulary because both languages use a large number of words of Chinese origin. However, this is also a difficulty when they are subjective and do not learn the correct pronunciation and the 6-tone system in Vietnamese. Koreans also have difficulty arranging the word order in sentences because Vietnamese and Korean have different grammatical structures.
11. Practical application:
Understand the current situation of teaching and learning Vietnamese by Koreans so that we can adjust it to suit the huge demand for learning Vietnamese by the Korean community in Vietnam.
12. Further research directions:
Solutions and recommendations to address the current situation of teaching and learning Vietnamese for the Korean community in Vietnam.
