The thesis "The Role of the Vietnam News Agency in Refuting and Correcting Misinformation" consists of 3 chapters:
Chapter 1: Theoretical basis of information correction, refutation, misinformation, and key features of the Vietnam News Agency.
Chapter 2: Correcting and Refuting Misinformation by the Vietnam News Agency's Domestic Information Sector
Chapter 3: Some solutions to improve the quality and effectiveness of correcting and refuting misinformation at the Vietnam News Agency.
This thesis has partially clarified the basic theories of information refutation and correction of misinformation. It examines the perspective of information refutation and correction under several communication theories. The thesis also contributes to clarifying fundamental issues regarding the information of the Vietnam News Agency (VNA), such as its functions, tasks, position, purpose, and similarities and differences between VNA and other media agencies, thereby affirming VNA's role in refuting and correcting misinformation. Through the study of the current state of information refutation and correction at VNA, the thesis points out the advantages and difficulties in implementing this information area. Based on this, the thesis proposes specific and appropriate solutions, such as: focusing on management and direction; organization, forecasting, and understanding public opinion, current events, and the methods of operation of hostile forces to promptly direct the implementation of information refutation and correction. VNA also needs to strengthen its staff training, building a high-quality workforce with strong political convictions and professional expertise to meet the requirements of the new era. VNA also needs to proactively and promptly provide official viewpoints to refute and correct misinformation. It should organize conferences and seminars to meet with experts in this field, and meet with clients such as media organizations and readers to promptly receive feedback and suggestions to gradually improve and enhance the quality of its information refutation and correction services.

The thesis contributes to ascertain the basic arguments on distortion refuting. Perspectives on distortion refuting under a few communication theories. The thesis also contributes to ascertain the fundamental issues of Vietnam News Agency: functions, tasks, position, aims, similarities and differences between Vietnam News Agency with other news agencies; role of Vietnam News Agency in refuting distortions. Through the research on distortion refutation in Vietnam News Agency, the thesis points out its advantages and disadvantages. The thesis suggests specific and relevant recommendation such as: giving an emphasis on management, organization, forecast work as well as studying the social opinion, current events as well as organizing of hostile forces so as to promptly refute the distortions. Vietnam News Agency also needs to release official statement and opinion to refute distortion in a prompt and active manner. It is also recommended that Vietnam News Agency organize workshop, conference to gather experts and international news agencies as well as audience to promplty collect feedbacks in order to step by step improve and enhance the quality of distortion refuting.
