The thesis "The role of Vietnam News Agency in refuting and correcting false information" includes 3 chapters:
Chapter 1: Theoretical basis of information correction, rebuttal, misinformation and main features of Vietnam News Agency
Chapter 2: Information to correct and refute false information of Vietnam News Agency, domestic information block
Chapter 3: Some solutions to improve the quality and effectiveness of information correction and refuting false information at Vietnam News Agency
The thesis has partly clarified the basic theories on information refuting and correcting false information. Perspectives on information refuting and correcting under some media theories. The thesis has also contributed to clarifying the basic issues on information of Vietnam News Agency (VNA) such as: functions, tasks, positions, purposes, similarities and differences between VNA and other press agencies, thereby affirming the role of VNA in refuting and correcting false information. Through the research on the current situation of information refuting and correcting lines at VNA, the thesis has pointed out the advantages and difficulties in implementing this information sector at VNA. Thereby, the thesis has proposed specific and suitable groups of solutions such as: focusing on management and direction; organization, forecasting, grasping public opinion, current affairs, and methods of operation of hostile forces to promptly direct the implementation of information refuting and correcting. VNA also needs to strengthen staff training and build high-quality human resources with strong political will and professional expertise to meet the requirements of the new era. VNA also needs to be proactive and promptly present orthodox viewpoints to promptly refute and correct false information. Organize conferences and seminars to meet experts in this field, meet customers who are press agencies and readers to promptly receive comments and suggestions to gradually improve and enhance the quality of refuting and correcting information.

The thesis contributes to ascertain the basic arguments on distortion refuting. Perspectives on distortion refuting under a few communication theories. The thesis also contributes to ascertain the fundamental issues of Vietnam News Agency: functions, tasks, position, aims, similarities and differences between Vietnam News Agency with other news agencies; role of Vietnam News Agency in refuting distortions. Through the research on distortion refutation in Vietnam News Agency, the thesis points out its advantages and disadvantages. The thesis suggests specific and relevant recommendation such as: giving an emphasis on management, organization, forecast work as well as studying the social opinion, current events as well as organizing of hostile forces so as to promptly refute the distortions. Vietnam News Agency also needs to release official statement and opinion to refute distortion in a prompt and active manner. It is also recommended that Vietnam News Agency organize workshop, conference to gather experts and international news agencies as well as audience to promplty collect feedbacks in order to step by step improve and enhance the quality of distortion refuting.
