10. Summary of the thesis results:
Adhering closely to the research topic, and drawing upon the theoretical foundations of journalism studies, this thesis analyzes, synthesizes, and clarifies the basic theoretical framework related to the topic: the district-level radio broadcasting system in the context of the information explosion.
Based on a sample survey conducted at three district-level radio stations with specific conditions in Hai Phong (including Kien An district – urban area, Cat Hai district – island area, and Thuy Nguyen district – rural and mountainous area), as well as a survey of public opinion, this thesis delves into a comprehensive analysis of all aspects of the operation of the district-level radio station system in Hai Phong. Based on this, it clearly identifies the successes, limitations, and challenges facing the operation of these stations. Despite some shortcomings and limitations, the role, significance, benefits, and concrete contributions of the district-level radio station system in information and propaganda work, contributing to the fulfillment of political tasks at the grassroots level, cannot be denied. The model of district-level radio stations should be maintained, especially in areas facing many difficulties such as rural, mountainous, and island regions.
Based on the theoretical and practical research conducted, and within the context of the information explosion and the development trends of modern and local radio broadcasting worldwide, this thesis proposes specific solutions and recommendations for management levels and district-level radio stations in directing, operating, and organizing activities to improve operational efficiency and affirm their role in the radio and television system in the future. The core issue is that these stations need to build a high-quality workforce, invest in modern infrastructure and equipment, innovate information content, improve presentation styles, and diversify transmission methods, focusing on the listener. Along with this, appropriate mechanisms and policies are needed to create favorable conditions for the effective operation of district-level radio stations. The thesis suggests that district-level radio stations should be directly under the management of provincial-level radio and television stations; and that district-level radio stations should be recognized as media organizations as soon as possible.
11. Practical applications:
The research findings of this thesis can be applied to district-level radio stations not only in Hai Phong city but also in many other provinces and cities to improve their organizational methods, overcome limitations, leverage strengths, and seize opportunities in the context of the information explosion to enhance the quality of their operations and affirm their role in information and propaganda work. At the same time, it will help management agencies and district-level stations formulate policies, guide development, build appropriate mechanisms for the grassroots broadcasting system, and manage this network more effectively.
12. Future research directions:
This thesis can open up many avenues for further research on issues related to district-level radio broadcasting systems in the context of the information explosion. For example, research on the development trends of grassroots radio broadcasting in Vietnam, improving the quality of information from district-level radio stations, and innovating the organizational and operational models of district-level radio stations in the trend of media convergence and multi-platform communication…
