The thesis has conducted research on the current situation of reflecting the issue of gender imbalance at birth in print media through a survey of three newspapers: Family and Society, Vietnamese Women and Capital Women from June 2012 to June 2014 to clarify the advantages and limitations in terms of content and form of press works in the communication on the issue of gender imbalance at birth. The thesis also evaluates the level and effectiveness of the press's impact on this issue through public surveys. In order to collect necessary data, opinions and viewpoints to serve the thesis's arguments, the thesis writer has conducted in-depth interviews with officials and reporters of a number of press agencies and responsible people in management agencies. From the analysis, evaluation and collected documents, the thesis has proposed a number of solutions to overcome the shortcomings and promote the role and effectiveness of print media in communicating about gender imbalance at birth. The greatest contribution of the thesis is that it is one of the first scientific research works on this issue, providing a fairly complete theoretical system, evaluating the information methods, the impact of information on this issue on the public and proposing solutions to improve the effectiveness of communication in print on the issue of gender imbalance at birth.

Thesis has studied the problem situation reflects sex ratio at birth in press through three newspaper survey: Family and Social Affairs, Women Vietnam Report, Women Capital Report since 6/2012 - 6/2014 in order to clarify the advantages, limitations on content and form of the works in the media on the issue of sex ratio at birth. Thesis assesses the levels and effectiveness of the media impact on this issue through the investigations in public. To gather necessary evidence, opinions, perspectives serve for thesis topics, thesis writers have worked in deep interviews with officials and journalists of several press agencies and the responsible persons in the management agency.
