10. Summary of thesis results:
The research topic “The role of professional social workers in hospitals today” (Research at the National Children's Hospital), although conducted on a small scale, has obtained some results of discovery nature. The results of the thesis are as follows:
Rankbest, the presence of a team of professional social workers in the National Children's Hospital is extremely necessary. Based on the actual needs of patients, their families and medical staff.
Monday,The team of social workers at the National Children's Hospital has been performing the roles of professional social workers, which are the roles of support, intermediary and education in assisting the subjects. This team has been providing a system of spiritual and material support services to patients and their families so that they can overcome difficulties and obstacles, partly supporting the treatment process to be carried out better.
Tuesday,In addition to the roles that have been performed well, the social work staff of the Central Children's Hospital still has limitations such as the implementation of the role is still heavily charitable, the application of a professional social work therapy process has not been implemented in the model. The number of social work staff has not met the needs of the majority of subjects. The system of facilities is still lacking. The cooperation and coordination of medical staff and patients' relatives is still low. Therefore, it is necessary to implement many measures to overcome these limitations, towards the professionalization of the social work staff at the Central Children's Hospital today. To professionalize the social work staff in the hospital, it is necessary to make this team: first, to be able to live on their salary; second, to clearly understand the ethical principles of the social work profession; third, to be trained in depth in social work; fourth, to perform their roles well. The first measure is to increase the quantity and quality of social workers, then raise awareness among hospital leaders, medical staff, and patients' relatives about the role of professional social workers in hospitals. And have a system of reasonable policies, incentives, and create favorable conditions for a secure salary regime for social workers.
11. Practical application:
In the context of research and model building of Social Work activities in Vietnam is still in its early stages, especially the development of Social Work models in hospitals. My research has contributed to perfecting the implementation of the role of professional Social Workers in hospitals, both practical and suitable to the actual situation in Vietnam.
For the National Children's Hospital: The results of the study indicate the achievements and limitations in promoting the role of professional social workers in the National Children's Hospital at present so that the hospital can take measures to promote the role of this team in assisting target groups.
In addition to the two main meanings above, it is also possible to use part of the research results as documents to bring social work into hospitals, from the results achieved and not achieved in order to have solutions to develop an increasingly professional social work team in hospitals, lessons learned from the social work model at the National Children's Hospital. At the same time, when this team develops, it will also bring job opportunities for many social work students after graduation.
12. Further research directions:
Research on the role of Social Work activities in hospitals on a broader scale, including Bach Mai Hospital, the Central Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion. From there, have a view on the necessity of this activity in all hospitals. Compare and draw experiences to replicate and implement Social Work activities in all hospitals, first of all at the central level.

11. Summary of the findings of the thesis:
Although the roles of social workers in hospitals (case study atNational Hospital of Pediatricsis implemented at a relatively small scale, it gains some detective results. Below are core results:
Firstly, as a result of practical demands of the patients, patients` family as well as hospital`s staff, the appearance of social workers atNational Hospital of Pediatricsis necessary.
Secondly,Social workers are implementing their roles professionally, including supporting, promoting and educating for the patients. This team is providing the service system regarding both spiritual and physical support which helps the patients and their relatives tackle their difficulties, overcome challenges and treat their diseases better.
Third,Besides some active contributions, this team has some limmitations such as their implementation are heavily humanistic, the apply a professional interference process has not carried out yet. The amout of staff have not met the patients`needs. The lack of infrastructure and equipment. The cooperation and connection between hospitals`officers are not effective. We therefroe need to conduct some solutions to deal with these problems towards the talented qualifications of social workers atNational Hospital of Pediatrics, consisting of: firstly, they will be paid salary adequately; secondly, they have to fully understand ethical rules of this job; Thirdly, they need to be trained about social work; and finally they effectively implement their roles. Amongst them, one of the priority remedies is that improving quantities and quality of social workers; next, enhancing the awarness of hospital`s leaders, patients` family as well as hospital`s staffrelating to the roles of social workers in this hospital. Furthermore, the government needs to have a suitable policy in terms of social workers` wage, so that they will have a passion on their tasks.
