Chapter 1: Theoretical Overview and Overview of Digital Transformation in Mass Media in Vietnam.
Chapter 1 covers the key theoretical foundations of the dissertation. This chapter focuses on clarifying general theoretical issues that influence the analysis of research activities in subsequent chapters as well as the entire dissertation. Through content related to the research topic, the author has presented concepts and terms within the scope of the research topic, such as: the concept of television, the concept of digital transformation, digital television, and the concept of the Party and State's viewpoint on digital transformation in journalism and media. Chapter 1 also clarifies issues related to the digital transformation of journalism, providing an overview of the current practical situation of digital transformation in journalism. The final part of the chapter outlines the requirements and methods for evaluating the digital transformation process of a media organization, including: issues of technology and technical investment; issues of content production strategy; and issues of developing the economics of journalism based on digital transformation.

- Chapter 2: The current state of digital transformation at VTC1 and VTC channels.

Chapter 2 of the thesis focuses on addressing the practical issues of the research topic, aiming to answer questions about the research objectives and tasks. The author delved into the current state of digital transformation content production at VTC1, specifically surveying the content of 78 programs that have been implemented, in the Vietnam ON section - the only current specialized program on digital transformation on television. The survey period was from March 2022 to October 2023. The author categorized the content groups of programs frequently mentioned regarding digital transformation, such as: technology, artificial intelligence, national strategy, people, digital transformation in the press, and digital transformation at the local level.

- Chapter 3: Identifying the problem and proposing key solutions to improve the quality of digital transformation on VTC1 channel.

Chapter 3 summarized and outlined the issues raised in reflecting the digital transformation of VTC1 Channel, as well as the channel's digital transformation process. VTC Television and VTC1 Channel are also facing common challenges regarding digital transformation, similar to many media organizations in Vietnam: issues of awareness, human resources, technology and investment funding, and issues related to content and management.

Based on the identified problems, the thesis proposes several groups of solutions, focusing particularly on three key areas: human resources strategy, content strategy, and technology strategy, in the digital transformation process of VTC Radio and VTC1 Channel in particular. The thesis also recommends that management levels pay attention to, support, and invest in media organizations implementing the national digital transformation strategy. These solutions are based on in-depth interviews with journalists at VTC1 and the survey results presented in Chapter 2 of the thesis.

  • Chapter 1: Literature review and overview of digital transformation within news media in Vietnam.

  • Chapter 2: The situation of digital transformation in VTC1 channel, VTC.

In chapter 2, the thesis focuses on solving practical survey problems of the research topic, to answer the questions raised about the purpose and tasks of the research. The author has delved into the current state of digital transformation content production at VTC1, specifically surveying the mentioned content of 78 implemented programs, in the section Vietnam ON - specialized program on Transformation The only number currently on television.
