The thesis has studied the characteristics of the use of comparisons in the poetry collection Homeland (many authors) in Vietnamese, in relation to Lao, to contribute to clarifying the artistic values of this method in conveying and expressing the content the author wants to mention while seeing the unique beauty in the language of each country. Below are the main conclusions drawn from the research results of the thesis:
In terms of morphological-structural characteristics of the word to be compared (A). In terms of word class, A can be a lexical unit (usually a noun), or it can also be a short phrase or a small sentence.
Structural-morphological characteristics of elements showing comparative relationships
Structural-morphological characteristics of the element being compared (B). Similar to the structural-morphological characteristics of the element to be compared (A), the element being compared (B) is divided into a lexical unit or a short phrase.
In the process of writing the thesis to study the characteristics of the use of comparisons in the poetry collection Homeland (many authors) in Vietnamese, we have contacted some Lao poems that use comparisons to contribute to clarifying the artistic values of this method in conveying and expressing the content the author wants to mention and at the same time seeing the unique beauty in the language of each country. Through the survey, we found that most of the poems are written in the form of A+tss+B, meaning lacking the comparison aspect. This is also the type of comparison most used by Vietnamese authors in their works.
11. Practical applicability: The research results can be applied in teaching Vietnamese to Lao people, or Lao to Vietnamese people.
12. Further research directions: Expand the scope of research on issues of comparing Lao poems related to the homeland with Vietnamese poetry.
