10. Summary of the thesis results:

This thesis addresses the nuclear issue of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea from 2012 to 2017 and updates relevant information up to 2019. During this period, under the influence of many factors, both internal and external, North Korea resolutely accelerated its nuclear weapons and ballistic missile development programs. The outstanding results in its nuclear and ballistic missile programs enabled North Korea to confidently declare the completion of its national nuclear force, becoming a nuclear-armed state and beginning the second phase of its dual-progress policy.

The qualitative shift in North Korea's nuclear and ballistic missile issues during this period profoundly impacted the security environment and international relations in the region. The interaction between the parties involved in the North Korean nuclear issue (North Korea, the United States, China, South Korea, Russia, and Japan) during this period created a new turning point for the denuclearization process on the Korean Peninsula as it exists today.

Vietnam is not directly involved in the North Korean nuclear issue, but it has been and continues to be affected by it. Between 2012 and 2017, Vietnam-North Korea relations deteriorated, at times even facing the risk of collapse. However, with positive developments in the area, relations have been restored and are developing. The denuclearization process on the Korean Peninsula is also facing new opportunities and is likely to be resolved by the relevant parties in the near future.

10. Summary of the findings of the thesis:

The thesis has mentioned the nuclear issue of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea from 2012 to 2017 and also updated information related to this issue until 2019. During this period, there were both subjective and objective reasons that made North Korea determined to speed up its program of developing nuclear weapons and ballistic missiles. The outstanding results in the nuclear program and ballistic missile helped North Korea confidently declare having completed national nuclear forces and becoming a nation possessing nuclear weapons; began to launch the second phase of the dual-track policy.

In this period, the qualitative change of North Korea's nuclear and ballistic issues played a great influence over the regional security environment and international relations. The interaction between the parties related to the Korean nuclear issue (North Korea, the United States, China, South Korea, Russia, and Japan) has created a new turning point for the process of denuclearization, which can be seen on the Korean Peninsula today.

Although Vietnam is not directly related to the North Korean nuclear issue, it has been affecting Vietnam at some points. In the period from 2012 to 2017, the relationship of Vietnam and Korea became worse, even facing the risk of collapse. However, the relation has been restored and developed thanks for some positive changes in the issue. There are now more and more new opportunities brought to the process of denuclearization, which means that the problem will likely be resolved by the related parties in the near future.

11. Practical applicability: The thesis can be used as a reference for studying and teaching in International Relations major.
