10. Summary of the thesis results:

Masturbation became a mechanism for patients to relieve stress and pressure in their lives. Gradually, patients abused masturbation more and more frequently (sometimes up to 10 times a day).

While masturbation can be beneficial in relieving stress and pressure, excessive masturbation can lead to pronounced symptoms of depression, such as feelings of guilt, self-loathing, social isolation, loss of interest in previously enjoyed activities, and even suicidal thoughts.

The effectiveness of applying CBT therapy in this clinical case yielded positive results: The client shared childhood problems and how current life impacts their stress and anxiety. The client was able to name their emotions, explain the reasons behind suicidal thoughts, identify the origins of their masturbation, and understand the benefits and harms of masturbation in their current life. After the initial phase, the client rebuilt their lifestyle and positive thinking, rediscovering their self-worth. The client felt more comfortable with themselves, happier, and more active in reducing negative thoughts. Symptoms such as insomnia, irritability, excessive masturbation, guilt, and suicidal thoughts significantly decreased. The client also practiced role-playing stressful situations and how they would respond to them.

Family support is crucial and provides long-term, continuous assistance not only to the client but also to the psychologist providing that support. The trust and collaboration between the family and the psychologist allows the psychologist to delve into and explore the hidden aspects of the client's psyche. This enables them to develop a treatment plan that is not only tailored to the client but also integrates various support resources effectively.
