The thesis studies the current situation, evaluates the successes and limitations of sustainable economic development in Son La province at present, thereby proposing solutions to contribute to improving the quality of information on sustainable economic development.

The thesis clarifies the theoretical basis of sustainable economic development and the role of the press in sustainable economic development in the province.

The thesis limits the study of the current status of information on sustainable economic development in the province.

Research period: From June 2017 to June 2018.

To carry out the thesis, the author conducted the method of researching documents related to the topic; documents on guidelines, policies, laws of the Party and State on the role of the press in the issue of sustainable economic development; Statistical - classification method; Method of analyzing works; Method of sociological investigation; Method of in-depth interviews, drawing scientific, appropriate and necessary conclusions to serve the research topic.

The successful research topic will contribute to assessing the current status of communication work on sustainable economic development in the province in Son La press. On that basis, propose a number of solutions to improve the quality and effectiveness of communication work on sustainable economic development in the province, especially raising awareness of local authorities and people in building sustainable economic development.

From that result, it will help the press agencies in the province and departments of Son La province have more information to evaluate the quality and effectiveness of their activities. Through that, there will be an approach to improve the effectiveness of communication in a more appropriate direction, at the same time encourage the creation of good, attractive and practical press products, bringing Son La to a sustainable economic development.
